did you have to remove any tubes to swap the speakers? had that issue with a small cheap tube combo before
No, not with the Studio 10’s
I plan on building on to my house and will put my deejay equipment along with my vinyl so I can play my music loud and not bother my partner or my neighbors.
what is this drywall holder
A drywall lift. Makes it so much easier. You can rent them for about $20 a day.
You are one hardworking dude. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Looking awesome!
Looks awesome!!
You're fired
Windoz!
Good on you, Scott. What an exciting project.
great tune
So RUclips decided to drop me into your project on episode 38. 😂😂😂😂😂
Damn…you’ve got homework now!
Same here, LOL
laminating dry wall... I don't see that very often, My family did that in our old house, when my parents wanted to renovate. We also did it cause we were lazy and didn't feel like breaking down existing wall (plaster)... Still, It really brought the noise level from outside down a lot! Well done~
Hey Scott, I find your studio project very fascinating and have been watching your progress, you seem to be a Scott of all trades, nice work! I have a bit of a problem you may be able to help me with. I purchased your 80s Sleaze Rock Vol 1, Classic Albums Appetite For Destruction, Southern Rock, and The Ratt Pack for Helix a while back but was relying on the IR's list on your website for needed IRs and placement. I've been checking back to the website often now for what seems like over a year to get that info but it's still not up. Is there any way you could get me a list of the IRs and their placement? Thanks!

as always love the tunes
I like it. When you are done, you will be really good at drywall. But then you'll be done. JK man, living the life! Any day getting something done is a good day for sure.
I’m getting pretty good at a bunch of things I’ll NEVER do again. Hahsga
@@Scottsguitarplayground you could end up removing a popcorn ceiling finish in a room and refinishing it with a smooth skim coat. Patching/repairing drywall, skim coating to remove blemishes. Replacing that fence out back. Carpentry basics. Square, level and plum usually keeps things in check. Sixteen inch layouts for studs so we know where to nail/screw plywood/drywall. if you have the money to hire the work out by all means. Use the time for something that means more to you. But it's a cool hobby like auto mechanics.
what was the double drywall for more insulation or sound deadening or just because
I’m trying to make this as neighbor-friendly as I can. I plan to play very loud guitar in this thing, so, I doubled up.
@@Scottsguitarplayground You know after i posted i thought that might be it right there good luck i went next door to my neighbor's and offered them a steak dinner once a yr they went with it no comments so far
Am I the only one who looked this up because of how insanely obnoxious his screams are? I thought James Hetfield was bad with his " yeeeaaa heee yeaaaaayaa"s. Give me a break. Can't stand this
Hahaha. I was so bored during the pandemic, I had to do something fun. Rock on!!!
@@Scottsguitarplayground glad you made the compilation, shows how ridiculous it is
The Home Depot on Brodey Ln (or the one on I35) usually has some very eager gentlemen who could help you out. Just sayin'!!
I live in Kansas City.
@@Scottsguitarplayground Doh! Been watching your videos for a while and for some reason thought you were in Austin!
@@JasonSigmanI lived in Austin for 16 years, then, in 2021 we moved to Kansas City on a whim, and love it here!
I use to watch all your Helix videos, glad to have found your channel again! Studio is looking awesome so far. 🤘🤘
Thanks for watching my videos!
Well for not being a builder i have to say wth would it look like if you were great job
Starts to feel smaller really fast after you put the insulation up been there
Scott, you know how I feel about this job you've taken on. You are doing a stand up job on this and I love the vids. You are a truly great guy on all levels and so happy we found you on our journeys through life and the love of music. Cant wait to see the end result.
Love your music
Thanks Dave!!! You and I are both gluttons for punishment. 😎
Wow, great progress! Going to be very rewarding when you get that thing done! You are rockin' it!
Thanks! It’s been a very rewarding journey. I can’t wait to actually relax inside it when I’m done.
Hey Scott. When will your website be back online to purchase Helix patches?
Sadly, probably never. You can email me directly, and I’ll send you the presets myself: TheHelixChannel@gmail.com
@@Scottsguitarplayground Thanks. Email sent.
the inside wiring you're doing is very smart set up love it wish i would of thought that far ahead with my studio
It´s gonna be awesome!! Congrats brother!
What is the silver stuff that you're putting in? And what is the purpose? Is it just another layer of insulation, or is there an "acoustic" purpose to it?
It’s called Reflectix. It’s a reflective barrier. Allegedly, it’ll help insulate the ceiling.
Awesome job so far I’m looking forward to seeing the finished studio 🤘
As a kid, I thought this song was called "Better Call Friends"... which in your case might not be a bad idea! Ha!
NEVER!!! Hahaha
I loved my JTV 89 until the high E string piezo stopped working... bought a soldering iron to try and fix the wire connector. Fingers crossed.
Are there building codes you had to follow, Scott? Any inspections required?
Nope, not for a structure under 200 square feet.
You're definitely not a communist, Scott. Locke and Hume would be proud. \m/
Hahaha…I don’t know what those words mean. 😎
not being scared of heights helps alot
Love it
always on the fringe
why did you want to set the drives at 10?
Hey sir, I actually met you a few years ago at one of the Austin Guitar Centers when they were doing a helix class. Hope ya doing ok.
From one marble lover to the next ; ) Great build man
Thanks so much!!!
Good on you, Scott! Impressive.
I've seen some people add in a diagonal 1x5 on two walls. They inlay it by cutting out the 2x4s. I would think this would be better then just the exterior particleboard supporting the trueness of the structure. Depends on how far you want to take it I guess. Fun project and thanks for sharing!
Oh well…too late now. I feel that this structure is gonna be rock solid once the sheathing, smart siding, and drywall are all up.
I’m going to use JBL Eon 710’s. Similar to the Eon 612’s I used for years with the Helix. But, these are smaller and lighter, with 10” drivers, instead of 12”. Great speakers!!!
Good
Thanks!!
sorry i wasn't yelling just not paying attention,,. and if you swing the door out you will gain just a bit of room that you will enjoy i know i did the opposite and wish i would of not sure why but it does feel like outward door give more room give it a thought
LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE GONNA WORK GREAT BUT A 500.00 TOOL CRIB IS A BIT PRICEY FOR NOW BUT LOOK CLEAN YOUR RIGHT LOL
Please keep going don't give up I'm learning by watching these videos of you building
Never give up, never surrender!!! Hahaha
love your tunes
Thanks!!!
Thanks Scott & hi from Scotland on a wet Sunday morning.Ive been pulling my hair out trying to work out how to change channels on my DT25 with my HX Stomp, so your video was super helpful 👍🏻
Wrong beat for this progression. Need the “one drop” or 4 on the floor/rock steady. This sounds like way-gay… (white boy reggae) 😂🤙🏽
